Influenced by everything from Classic Rock to Classical, Indian Tabla Drumming to Electronic Techno, Mykl brings a very rhythmic and percussive element to the acoustic guitar never before seen like this. He incorporates bongo drums and other percussion instruments while playing guitar and singing, much to the amazement of his audience.

Mykl started as a guitarist in high school in 1983 playing in various bands around his hometown, providing music and lyrics to these projects.  It was shortly after high school that Mykl started singing so that he could present his songs in his own way. Having grown up in the Cleveland, Ohio area, Mykl migrated to Boulder, Colorado in 1989 where he spent much of that time creating unique music, inventing nontraditional techniques of presenting his music and traveling across the country seeking adventures that would inspire and grow his music.  Mykl has since moved to Springfield, Missouri in August 2003. After seeing Tabla Drumming Master Zakir Hussein perform in Boulder in 1997, Mykl was inspired to introduce the hand drums to the guitar. It was a grand union. Mykl recorded his debut CD “Welcome To My World” during the spring months of 2000 and upon picking up the finished product embarked on his “Welcome To My World Tour 2000” taking him throughout the Midwest, New England and the East Coast from late April through late August of that year. Performing mostly original music, Mykl is also known by his fans for playing personalized renditions of some rather obscure and more popular cover songs ranging from Pink Floyd to Pearl Jam and from Crosby, Stills and Nash to The Cranberries. Mykl has over 20 years experience performing live shows. Although the acoustic guitar tends to be Mykl’s first choice, he is equally accomplished on the electric and bass guitars as well.  He also plays the drums and has been known to bring out some of these other instruments during a show to spice things up a bit. Mykl has enough original material to fill an entire evening and over 100 cover songs to choose from to mix things up.  Sometimes described as “Speed Folk” or “Enthusiastic Acoustic” Mykl is known as a high energy performer who adds a bit of visual fun to the audio equation.
